Talent Agility and Microlearning

As we mature into our next evolutionary stage at Passion Gaming, we strive to improve our learning ecosystem with a strategy that prepares our workforce to take on the next set of opportunities. For as long as organizations have known competition, they have tried to maintain their position in dynamic markets.

However, a huge responsibility lies with companies to make sure that their human capital is competitive and financially satisfied. Although other determinants impact an organization’s growth and success, its people truly decide its fate. Therefore, it is obvious for them to ensure that their employees are productive and efficient. People have intangible attributes such as knowledge, skills, engagement, and performance. These are mostly deemed irreplaceable and are essential to achieving an optimum return on investment.

Training helps with talent agility—the ability to modify the configuration of its talent fast and cheap. As technology continues to disrupt all facets of a business, we look forward to building a workforce that accepts, adapts, and engages quickly. We push the pedals of learning and development to build our team and, on an individual basis, demand good learning from every member as the most important skill that they can possess.

Our learning and development work closely with our organization’s vision, focused on training and improving the performance outcomes of individuals and groups toward a common goal of growth and sustainability. The sole purpose is to train and develop new and existing “human resources” to win in a competitive and dynamic market.

Learning and development aim to improve each individual’s skills (both soft and technical) so they can perform effectively and efficiently in their existing tasks. Training is provided to meet both present as well as future roles and responsibilities, making them more agile. Regardless of the objective, proper training practices help the employees to attain both self-improvement and contribute to organizational growth.

People’s Learning, Development, and Productivity

People Learning includes a set of mixed training programs that we facilitate for our employees. These programs majorly focus on knowledge enhancement and skill development for new as well as existing employees. There is a direct impact of learning on employees’ professional behaviour and their working skills, which results in enhanced performance outcomes as well as an improved motivation level.

Moreover, promoting microlearning is the most effective way of motivating, enhancing commitments, as well as retaining high-quality human resources within Passion Gaming. Microlearning simply refers to learning in small bursts, rather than going through long, unwieldy training sessions where the attention span of most of us is greatly challenged.

Employee development is an activity that leads to the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and opportunities for the purpose of self-growth and development within an organization. Organizations facilitate employees with development programs in order to improve their competency matrix to meet the current challenging business environment. Therefore, organizations need to support this continuous employee development program (EDP) in order to achieve success.

Training has been irreplaceable in increasing the productivity of organizations. It not only enhances an employee’s resourcefulness but also provides them with an opportunity to develop their skills. These skills are meant to help in virtually learn their jobs quickly and perform more efficiently. The end result is not only enhanced organizational productivity, but also the employee’s personal development.

But, there’s a limit to one’s effectiveness. To improve employee performance, we aspire to provide learning on a regular basis and through small potent shots.

Identification of Learning & Development Needs

Learning and development are no longer optional; rather, they have become a crucial part of our growth and success. Passion Gaming’s investment in learning and developing its workforce is probably the most vital today and is helping us stand out from the crowd.

Training Need Analysis (TNA) is the next step in the learning and development process to determine which training is important and for whom. And there are three significant components of need analysis, namely: organizational analysis, task analysis, and person analysis.

Conducting a training needs assessment is essential to:

  • Help in addressing and improving upon employee weaknesses
  • Improvement in employee knowledge, skills, performance and behaviour
  • Ensuring employee satisfaction and recognition
  • Increased productivity
  • Reduction in supervision costs as well as better utilization of time and other resources
  • Find training that is beneficial to the employees’ performance outcome
  • Find out if training will make a difference in both the short and long term
  • Differentiate training needs from organizational challenges
  • Correlate employee performance with the organizational goals and objectives

Our Approach to Learning and Development

Our approach toward learning and development is nothing but selecting the right type of training. This means ensuring that our employees have the right skills and knowledge to efficiently conduct our business.

To meet current and future business demands, Passion Gaming has introduced “Udemy” learning to its team. Udemy is the world’s largest online learning platform and is a great place to improve professional skills. It serves as a platform that allows instructors to build online courses on topics of their choosing based on the training requirements of the employees. Udemy’s course development tools provide access to classroom training videos, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, audio files, and zip files.

Passion Gaming is beginning to sponsor its employees to attend specific online courses. Passion Gaming’s core product is Rummy Passion, India’s Most Loved Rummy App, and moving forward, we aim to make it even better by improving our employees’ skills. Depending upon the nature of the course and the time frames, nominations will be sought by the Learning and Development team from department heads.

This is one step in the right direction of making our people more capable and confident so, eventually, they become SME’s, or subject matter experts.

Many organizations fail to meet the employee requirements and end up with gaps in their existing skills pool and acquired skills. This gap has become so vast that the interdependence of training and performance can be negatively affected, especially in smaller organizations. This implies a direct relationship between employee learning and productivity/performance outcomes. But, a considerable gap is still present between the knowledge and skills imparted and acquired in the training institutions and their practical applications as seen in the organizational environments.

To avoid this gap, Passion Gaming feels that there should be a close liaison between such online learning platforms and the organizations. And that is why Passion Gaming has chosen Udemy so that employee development programs can be made more purpose-oriented.
